The programs of the International Baccalaureate, are programs of high impact and academic rigor that attend around the world more than 137,000 young people in the last two years of pre-university education and of which approximately 92,000 belong to the American continent.

For young people aged 15-19, the International Baccalaureate offers two options, the Diploma Programme and the Career Guidance Programme. Both programs allow students to develop critical, creative and reflective thinking skills that help them understand both the local and international environment, with an ethical vision that allows them to make their learning process a great experience, as it not only encourages them to play and develop all their talents, but also to put them at the service of others.

In UPAEP High School, the International Baccalaureate programs help to complement our academic and formative proposal, since they support the process of integral formation of students and facilitate their gradual and systematic integration into the university environment.

At UPAEP High School, all students have the opportunity to attend these programs, put all their talents into play, and achieve a high academic level in a demanding and challenging model that prepares them to successfully face their university studies and become authentic social leaders.

Bilingual Program- UPAEP HIGH SCHOOL

Our bilingual educational program prepares students, in a three year high school program, to have a high level performance in English within an academic context; in other words, students develop all the linguistic competences (both comprehensive and productive skills) in order to acquire the different curricular contents through a foreign language. In order to achieve this goal, it is compulsory to take Mathematics, History, Business and Science  as well as two subjects related to general training in English.

The language acquisition courses provide the basis for the development to improve the use of English with native English speaking teachers working under the Language B program proposed by the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate. Due to the interrelationship mentioned, the Bilingual Program covers  60% of the curriculum, offering the possibility of obtaining the IB Bilingual Certification, in its two programs (Diploma and Career-related).

Using a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), students progress simultaneously in the acquisition of the a foreign language as well as the learning of disciplinary contents. It is mandatory to show evidence of a pre-intermediate level in the admission process in order to be admitted into the Bilingual Program.

In addition, the Bilingual Program enables students not only to achieve three different degrees of competency, according to the Common European Framework of Reference, but strengthens their learning through experiences provided by the Summer Academy in Oklahoma, Canada and Seattle, and also enables students to complete the TOEFL certification at the end of the three year high school program.

In this way, upon  graduation, students will be qualified to take advantage of all  exchange programs and residencies abroad that UPAEP offers to more than 30 countries in the five continents, in addition to the possibility of studying a third language.
